Enhancements to Version 1.9 include updating the MODIS Terra and Aqua L1A and Geolocation module to the latest version. These modules were ported from the SeaDAS Data Processing Component (SeaDAS-OCSSW, direct broadcast bundle, tag: V2021.2).
This software package contains the MODIS Level 1 Direct Broadcast SPA (MODISL1DB_SPA). It processes Level 0 MODIS data into Level 1A (MOD01/MYD01) and Geolocation (MOD03/MYD03) products. It also processes Level 1A and Geolocation products into MODIS Level 1B one km (MOD021KM/MYD021KM), half km (MOD02HKM/MYD02QKM), and quarter km (MOD02QKM/MYD02QKM) granules. The MODISL1DB_SPA functions as an IPOPP plug-in.
1. Provide a convenient empty local subdirectory to contain the software package. Ensure that you have Wget installed on your system, and that you have adequate free space to accommodate the assembled file [MODISL1DB_1.9_SPA_1.2.tar.gz (5.1 GB)]. Note that you must use the same machine to both download and run the downloader_MODISL1DB_1.9_SPA_1.2.sh script. The script must be run to completion within 24 hours after it was downloaded, or it will be necessary to download and run a fresh script.
2. Download the downloader_MODISL1DB_1.9_SPA_1.2.sh script to the local subdirectory. From the local subdirectory, make the downloader_MODISL1DB_1.9_SPA_1.2.sh script executable and run it to fully automate and verify the transfer of the complete MODISL1DB_1.9_SPA_1.2.tar.gz file:
chmod +x downloader_MODISL1DB_1.9_SPA_1.2.sh
./downloader_MODISL1DB_1.9_SPA_1.2.sh
Progress indicators will appear as the package is downloaded, assembled and verified. When the entire process is complete the script will return the message "File successfully downloaded." The MODISL1DB_1.9_SPA_1.2.tar.gz and MODISL1DB_1.9_SPA_1.2.pdf files should now be contained in the local subdirectory. The download is complete.
3. Installing into an IPOPP Framework:
This SPA must be installed dynamically into an IPOPP framework to automate production of data products. The SPA installation process will install SPA service(s) into IPOPP. An SPA service is an IPOPP agent that provides the mechanism necessary for running an SPA automatically within the IPOPP framework. Once this SPA is installed, users must enable the service(s) corresponding to the SPA. Instructions for installing an SPA and enabling its services are contained in the IPOPP User’s Guide (available on the DRL Web Portal). The SPA services for this SPA are listed in the User's Guide (PDF) included with this software package.
To run this package, you must have the Java Development Kit (JDK) or Java Runtime Engine (JRE) (Java 1.6.0_25 or higher) installed on your computer, and the bin directory of your Java installation in your PATH environment variable. You must also have the following installed on your computer:
