Enhancements to IPOPP Version 5.0 include:
The International Planetary Observation Processing Package (IPOPP) can ingest JPSS and SNPP VIIRS and OMPS Production Data Set (PDS) files, JPSS and SNPP Raw Data Record (RDR) files, and Terra and Aqua MODIS PDS files. IPOPP can also ingest Level 1 products, including Terra/Aqua Level-1, SNPP and JPSS netcdf Level 1, and JPSS and SNPP Sensor Data Records (SDR) Level 1. It automates multi-level processing of the ingested RDR and PDS files and produces JPSS and SNPP Sensor Data SDRs, JPSS and SNPP Environmental Data Records (EDRs), and Terra and Aqua Level-1 and Level-2 products. For a list of science algorithms and associated products included in this package, refer to the IPOPP User's Guide, Appendix C, "Science Processing Algorithms and Products."
1. Provide a convenient empty local subdirectory to contain the software package. Ensure that you have Wget installed on your system, and that you have adequate free space to accommodate the assembled IPOPP file [DRL-IPOPP_5.0.tar.gz (37.8 GB)]. Note that you must use the same machine to both download and run the downloader_DRL-IPOPP_5.0.sh script. The script must be run to completion within 24 hours after it was downloaded, or it will be necessary to download and run a fresh script.
2. Download the downloader_DRL-IPOPP_5.0.sh script to the local subdirectory. From the local subdirectory, make the downloader_DRL-IPOPP_5.0.sh script executable and run it to fully automate and verify the transfer of the complete IPOPP v5.0 package [DRL-IPOPP_5.0.tar.gz (37.8 GB)]:
chmod +x downloader_DRL-IPOPP_5.0.sh
./downloader_DRL-IPOPP_5.0.sh
Progress indicators will appear as the package is downloaded, assembled and verified. When the entire process is complete the script will return the message "File successfully downloaded." The DRL-IPOPP_5.0.tar.gz and IPOPP_5.0_Users_Guide.pdf files should now be contained in the local subdirectory. The download is complete.
Detailed instructions for operating IPOPP are contained in the IPOPP User's Guide (PDF) included with the package.
